Bingo in Ohio is charity bingo: only a charitable organization licensed by the Ohio Attorney General may run or advertise a game, so the halls here belong to parishes, schools, booster clubs, veterans posts, a fire department and youth sports groups. Last checked: October 2026. Each of the 21 games listed by region holds a 2026 state bingo license on the Attorney General’s list, and we checked each one against the organizer’s own page or a 2026 newspaper listing. Sixteen more are licensed games from an October 2026 bingo guide that we have not confirmed with the organizer. A few organizer pages are years old or give no start time, so call before you drive.

Columbus Area Bingo Halls
We confirmed two games in the Columbus area: VFW Post 8794 in Whitehall on Sundays and Fisher Catholic High School in Lancaster on Wednesdays. A state license lists the days a charity may play, and several charities use fewer; the Whitehall post is licensed for three days, but its October 2026 calendar shows bingo on Sunday only. Every schedule on this page follows what the organizer or a 2026 listing printed, not the license days, and four more licensed Columbus area games are in the table further down.

Ohio Bingo Rules
- Who regulates it: the Ohio Attorney General’s Charitable Law Section, under Ohio Revised Code chapter 2915
- Who can run it: only a licensed charitable organization: a 501(c)(3) group, or a tax-exempt veterans, fraternal, sporting, volunteer firefighter’s or volunteer rescue organization, that has existed in Ohio for the two years before it applies
- How often: a charity may hold no more than three bingo sessions in any seven days, and one building may host no more than nine sessions a week, which is how a hall shared by several charities can have a game most nights
- Session length: up to five continuous hours of traditional bingo, with up to two hours before and two hours after for instant bingo; no session may run between 2:00am and 10:00am
- Prize limit: a charity may pay out no more than $6,000 in traditional bingo prizes during one session; instant bingo awards are not counted in that limit
- Minimum age: 18 to play traditional bingo or to buy an instant bingo ticket
- Electronic bingo aids: devices that track the bingo cards you bought for a traditional session; one player may play no more than 90 faces on them, the hall must give you the matching paper, and the price must be the same as paper
- Electronic instant bingo: a separate game, an electronic form of paper pull tabs legalized in June 2021; only qualified veterans and fraternal organizations may be licensed for it, on no more than ten devices, and only their members and invited guests may play
The Attorney General explains the kinds of bingo on its charitable bingo page and publishes a list of authorized bingo locations for the current year, with each license’s address and days of play. The session and prize limits are in Ohio Revised Code 2915.09. Bingo workers must be at least 18 and may not be paid or tipped. Questions about a license go to the Charitable Law Section at 800-282-0515.
Ohio Bingo FAQ
Is bingo legal in Ohio?
Yes, when a charitable organization runs it under a license from the Ohio Attorney General. No one else may conduct or advertise bingo. That is why the games on this page are run by parishes, schools, booster clubs, veterans posts and other nonprofits.
How old do you have to be to play bingo in Ohio?
At least 18. State law bars a charity from letting anyone under 18 play traditional bingo or buy an instant bingo ticket. St. Ambrose in Brunswick goes further and keeps everyone under 18 out of the hall, apart from staff; that is the parish’s own rule.
What is the most a bingo session can pay out in Ohio?
A charity may pay out no more than $6,000 in traditional bingo prizes during one session. That limit covers the whole session, not each game. Instant bingo awards are outside it, which is why a hall can post a separate pull-tab jackpot.
How many nights a week can a hall hold bingo in Ohio?
Each licensed charity may hold no more than three sessions in any seven days. One building may host up to nine sessions a week, so a hall shared by several charities can have a game most nights. Valley Street Bingo in Dayton, in the table above, is shared by three licensed charities.
Can I play bingo on an electronic device in Ohio?
Yes. A hall may offer electronic bingo aids that track your cards, up to 90 faces per player, with matching paper at the same price as paper. Electronic instant bingo is a different thing: an electronic pull-tab game allowed only at licensed veterans and fraternal organizations, for members and invited guests.
Where can I play bingo on a Sunday in Ohio?
Six confirmed games on this page play on Sunday: VFW Post 8794 in Whitehall, ACO Bingo Hall in Parma, St. Lawrence in Cincinnati, Sylvania Bingo, Saint Isidore in Louisville and the Lisbon Lions Club. The earliest is St. Lawrence, with regular games at 1:30pm, but that time is from a 2021 page, so check it first.
Why call before I go?
A state license shows the days a charity may play, and several play fewer. St. Ambrose in Brunswick and the Genoa American Legion play about twice a month, Willoughby South cancels when school is closed, and Stow Youth Baseball cancels when volunteers are short. A short call saves a wasted trip.
