Bingo in Georgia is a nonprofit fundraiser: only licensed, tax-exempt groups may run it for money, and the games we found are at American Legion and VFW posts, Elks lodges and military base recreation halls. Last checked: October 2026. The 15 games below were checked against the organizer’s own website, except one in Cordele that comes from a January 2026 news report, and eight more listings further down are unconfirmed leads. Five of the 15 are on military bases: three admit only military ID card holders and their guests, and the other two do not say who may enter. Most posts and lodges do not put card prices online and several of their pages carry no date, so call before you drive.

We confirmed four games around Atlanta: American Legion Post 201 in Alpharetta, VFW Post 2681 in Marietta, VFW Post 5290 in Conyers and the Elks lodge in Covington. Conyers and Covington are east of the city. We could not confirm a game inside DeKalb, Gwinnett or Clayton County from an organizer’s own page; unconfirmed leads in Jonesboro, Mableton and Marietta are in the table further down.

More Georgia Bingo Listings
All eight of these come from map listings where reviewers mention bingo, not from the organizer’s own page. None has a confirmed schedule and map listings can be stale, so treat every row as a lead and call first.

One lodge that still turns up in map searches has moved. Map listings still show the Atlanta-Northlake Elks Lodge #78 at 1775 Montreal Rd in Tucker, with reviews about Sunday bingo, but the lodge’s own page, updated November 25, 2025, says that building was sold and the lodge now meets at 4394 Hugh Howell Rd; it mentions no bingo. Reviewers also mention bingo at American Legion posts in Sugar Hill, Smyrna, Loganville and Douglasville and at VFW Post 5255 in Lawrenceville, but we could not confirm a current game at any of them.
Georgia Bingo Rules
- Who regulates it: the Georgia Secretary of State, since July 1, 2021; before that it was the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The law is O.C.G.A. 16-12-50 to 16-12-63
- Who can run it: only a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization that has existed for at least 12 months and holds a state license. The license costs $100 a year and expires on December 31
- Prize limits: since July 1, 2026, a licensee may award no more than $6,000 in cash or gifts of equivalent value in a calendar week, counted across all of its locations. We found no separate state cap on a single game or session
- Sessions: since July 1, 2026, a licensee may hold up to three sessions in one calendar day, each no longer than five hours. Where licensees share a hall, that location may host no more than 31 sessions a month
- Players: a person under 18 may play only when an adult is with them, and no one under 18 may help run a game. Halls can set a stricter rule
- Helper pay: no one may take a salary or fee for running a game, except that since July 1, 2026 not more than $150 per session may be paid to people who help conduct the games
- Electronic bingo: allowed on a device that stores card numbers and tracks called numbers, as long as a person on the premises draws the numbers. The rules posted by the Secretary of State allow no more than 54 cards per game on one unit, and one unit per player
- Free bingo: recreational bingo with no charge to players and noncash prizes needs no license. The posted rules cap its prizes at $15 per game
The Secretary of State explains licensing in its charity bingo guide. The weekly prize cap, sessions per day and helper pay shown above come from House Bill 455, which took effect on July 1, 2026. Many websites still show the old limits of $3,000 a week, one session a day and $30 a day for helpers, so check the date on anything you read. The rule book posted on the state’s own site is marked Revised March 2020 and still names the GBI.
Georgia Bingo FAQ
Is bingo legal in Georgia?
Yes, when a licensed nonprofit, tax-exempt organization runs the game. The Georgia Secretary of State has licensed and regulated bingo since July 1, 2021; before that it was the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Free recreational bingo with small noncash prizes needs no license.
How old do you have to be to play bingo in Georgia?
State law lets a person under 18 play only when an adult is with them, and no one under 18 may help run a game. Halls can be stricter. The Army bingo rooms at Fort Gordon, Fort Benning, Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield require players to be 18.
How much can a Georgia bingo hall pay out in prizes?
Since July 1, 2026 a licensed organization may award up to $6,000 in cash or gifts in a calendar week. The limit was $3,000 a week before House Bill 455 took effect. We found no separate state cap on a single game, so jackpots vary by hall; several games on this page advertise a $1,000 jackpot.
How many bingo sessions a day are allowed in Georgia?
Since July 1, 2026 a licensee may hold up to three sessions in one day, and each session can last up to five hours. Before that the limit was one session a day, and many websites still show the old figure.
Can anyone play at the military base bingo halls in Georgia?
No. Fort Benning says its hall is for military personnel, retirees, family members, sponsored guests and DoD civilians 18 and older, and Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield say authorized ID cardholders and bona fide guests. The Fort Gordon and Robins Air Force Base pages do not say who may enter, so do not assume the public can get in; phone and ask about base access before you go.
Where can I play bingo on a Sunday in Georgia?
Sunday games at posts and lodges on this page are American Legion Post 201 in Alpharetta on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, the Savannah Elks at 7:00pm and the Toccoa Elks at 7:00pm. The base halls at Fort Benning, Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield also play on Sunday for people who are allowed on base.
Why call before I go?
Several Georgia posts and lodges list bingo on pages that carry no date, and a few details here are flagged: the Marietta VFW posts no schedule, the Gainesville time comes from a countdown timer and the Savannah Elks pages disagree about Thursday. Covington skips major holidays, and the Fort Stewart and Hunter rooms close on federal holidays. A short call saves a wasted trip.
