Bingo in Connecticut is charity bingo: parishes, Knights of Columbus councils, Elks lodges, veterans posts and clubs run it under a permit from their own town or city, and Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket adds one very large tribal bingo hall. The games we could confirm are around Hartford, in the Waterbury and Danbury area, along the shoreline, in Norwalk and across eastern Connecticut. Last checked: October 2026. The 18 games below were checked against the organizer’s own website (one against a July 2025 news report), and 16 more are older or directory leads. Connecticut has no statewide list of permitted games, because every town issues its own permits, so phone or check the organizer’s page before you drive.

Connecticut Bingo at a Glance
- Who regulates it: each town or city issues bingo permits and enforces the law, usually through its police chief; the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection registers equipment dealers and issues sealed ticket permits
- Minimum age: none is stated for bingo players on the state’s bingo pages, so each game sets its own; sealed tickets are 18 and over, and Foxwoods bingo is 18 and over
- Main prize limit: $250 for most prizes at a town-permitted game, with bigger special, winner-take-all and grand prizes allowed within set limits
- Games on this page: 18 confirmed games: 4 in the Hartford area, 4 around Waterbury and Danbury, 3 in New Haven and on the shoreline, 2 in Norwalk and 5 in eastern Connecticut, Foxwoods among them; 16 older leads are listed separately
- Last checked: October 2026
Most Connecticut games do not post their prices, so prices appear below only where the organizer gives them. Several organizer pages carry no date; where that is the case, the notes say so.
Bingo in Hartford and Central Connecticut
We list four confirmed games in central Connecticut, in East Hartford, South Windsor, Enfield and Bristol, and between them they cover Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Older leads for Manchester, West Hartford, New Britain and Plainville are in the table further down, and players near the state line can also check our Massachusetts bingo halls page.

Connecticut Bingo Rules
- Who regulates it: each town or city, which issues the permits and enforces the law, normally through the chief of police; this has been the system since January 1, 2018, and each municipality votes on whether to allow bingo at all
- Who can run it: a charitable, civic, educational, fraternal, veterans’ or religious organization, volunteer fire department or grange that has existed for at least two years; its own members run the game, and outside vendors may not be hired to run it
- How often: a Class A permit covers one bingo day each week for a year, a Class B permit up to ten days in a row (no more than two a year), and a Class C permit one day each month; each bingo day has 15 to 40 games
- Prize limits: a prize generally may not be worth more than $250; the law also allows prizes of $251 to $750 as long as they total no more than $2,500 in a day, one or two winner-take-all games a day that pay out at least 90% of their card sales up to $1,000 a prize, door prizes worth up to $500 in all, and for weekly games two extra special grand prizes of up to $500 a week each, which can roll over for up to 16 weeks and no more than $5,000 in total
- Minimum age: the Department of Consumer Protection’s bingo pages state no minimum age for players, and we found none in the bingo statute, so each organizer sets its own rule
- Sealed tickets: pull-tab style sealed tickets need a separate permit from the Department of Consumer Protection and cannot be sold to anyone under 18
- Senior and school groups: senior citizen groups (members 60 and older) and parent teacher groups may hold recreational bingo with a town registration, but not as a fundraiser; for senior groups admission is capped at $1 and prizes at $50
- Online bingo: the Department of Consumer Protection says online bingo, including live social media events, is not legal in Connecticut
The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) sets out the permit classes on its bingo, bazaar and raffle page and answers common questions in its bingo FAQ. The FAQ gives the general $250 limit and points to section 7-169(h) of the Connecticut General Statutes for the exceptions. The exception figures above, the senior group limits and the under-18 sealed ticket rule are as we read them in the 2024 and 2025 editions of the statutes, so ask the town if an exact figure matters to you. DCP no longer permits bingo games itself and publishes no list of them, so the place to ask about a permit is the town where the game is played. Foxwoods is tribal casino bingo, and the town permit rules and the $250 limit do not apply there. To compare with other states, see our bingo rules by state page.
Connecticut Bingo FAQ
Is bingo legal in Connecticut?
Yes. Connecticut has allowed bingo since 1939. Charitable, civic, educational, fraternal, veterans’ and religious organizations, volunteer fire departments and granges that are at least two years old may run it with a permit from their town or city.
Who regulates bingo in Connecticut?
Each town or city does. Since January 1, 2018, Connecticut municipalities have issued bingo permits and enforced the bingo law, usually through the chief of police. The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection registers bingo equipment dealers and issues sealed ticket permits, and it publishes no statewide list of bingo games.
How much can a bingo game pay in Connecticut?
At a town-permitted charity game in Connecticut, a prize generally cannot be worth more than $250. State law also allows special prizes of $251 to $750 up to $2,500 a day, one or two winner-take-all games of up to $1,000 a prize, and for weekly games a special grand prize that can build to $5,000. Foxwoods is tribal casino bingo and posts regular game payouts of $500 to $1,000.
How old do you have to be to play bingo in Connecticut?
The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection’s bingo pages state no minimum age for charity bingo players, and we found none in the bingo statute, so each game sets its own rule. Sealed tickets cannot be sold to anyone under 18. Foxwoods says the legal age to play bingo there is 18.
Do Connecticut casinos have bingo?
Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut has a High Stakes Bingo Hall with more than 2,200 seats, with sessions at 10:30am and 6:30pm Wednesday to Sunday, admission of $15 to $25 and a minimum age of 18. We found no bingo at Mohegan Sun: in October 2026 its casino games page listed slots, table games, poker and a race book.
Can I play bingo online in Connecticut?
Not as charity bingo. The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection says online bingo, including live social media events, is not legal in Connecticut.
Where can I play bingo in Hartford?
We could not confirm a weekly game inside Hartford, Connecticut. St. Mary’s Bingo at 30 Maplewood Avenue in East Hartford plays every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, with doors at 4:00pm and the night session at 6:30pm. This page also lists Friday bingo in South Windsor, Monday bingo in Enfield and Wednesday bingo in Bristol; see the Bingo in Hartford and Central Connecticut section above.
Where can I play bingo in New Haven?
The one confirmed game in New Haven, Connecticut is BingoMania, a monthly Saturday fundraiser for the Connecticut Gay Men’s Chorus at the Annex Y.M.A. Club, 554 Woodward Avenue, with doors at 6:00pm. We could not confirm a weekly game in the city. On the shoreline, this page lists Monday bingo in Guilford and Wednesday bingo in Westbrook.
Where can I play bingo in Bridgeport?
We could not confirm a game in Bridgeport, Connecticut for 2026. Port 5 on Brewster Street lists Tuesday night bingo on its website, but that page was last dated June 2024, so call 203-576-9366 first. The two confirmed Fairfield County games on this page are both in Norwalk: Monday nights at the Saint Ann Club and Thursdays, except the third Thursday of the month, at American Legion Post 12.
Why call before I go?
Connecticut bingo permits are issued town by town, so there is no state list to check a game against. Many of these games are run by volunteers at parishes, lodges and posts, several of their pages carry no date, and some cancel for weather or a small crowd. A call or a look at the organizer’s Facebook page also gets you tonight’s prices, which most Connecticut games do not post.
