Bingo Hall Guide for North Dakota

North Dakota bingo is charity bingo. Licensed nonprofit groups run it at authorized sites, and most games are in Fargo, Bismarck and Mandan, Grand Forks and Minot. Three full bingo halls play every week: Big Top Bingo in Fargo, Dakota Skies Bingo in Bismarck and Bingorama in Minot. Many bars also run bingo for charities such as the North Dakota Association for the Disabled (NDAD). Last checked: October 2026. We confirmed the 16 games below on each hall’s, charity’s, visitors bureau’s or casino’s own page. Most also appear on the North Dakota Attorney General’s current lists of gaming sites and licensed groups. Another 10 are older directory leads. Bar bingo times and monthly specials change often, and several halls and bars post no prices or age rule. A quick call before a long drive is wise.

North Dakota Bingo Rules

  • Who regulates it: the Gaming Division of the North Dakota Office of Attorney General, under North Dakota Century Code chapter 53-06.1 and Administrative Code Article 99-01.3; phone 701-328-4848
  • Who can run it: eligible nonprofit organizations with a state license and city or county approval for each site; a public-spirited group recognized by its city or county may get a local permit for raffles, bingo or sports pools. A licensed group may generally have no more than 15 sites
  • Minimum age: no one under 18 may play bingo unless they are with an adult, the game runs under a permit, or its prizes stay within permit limits; electronic quick shot bingo is 18 and over, and pull tabs and blackjack are 21 and over
  • Prize limits: at a site where bingo is the main game, or one the group leases, total bingo prizes may not exceed bingo gross proceeds over two consecutive quarters, and at a site where bingo is the main game, single prizes of $10,000 or more are left out of that total. Permit games are capped at a $15,000 top prize and $50,000 in prizes a year
  • Electronic quick shot bingo: played on hand-held devices with up to 16 cards a game, at no more than $5 a card; like pull tabs, it may only run during hours when alcohol may be served
  • Bingo program: each session needs a written bingo program, and cards are bought on site just before or during the session, except presales for special sessions with $10,000 or more in prizes
  • How much is played: North Dakota bingo took in $26,768,819.25 and paid out $21,484,269.41 in prizes in the year ending June 2026, in preliminary state figures

The Attorney General explains licensing on its charitable gaming page, lists current licensed organizations and gaming sites on its gaming licensees page, and posts the full games of chance law. The site list shows which charity runs gaming at each bar or hall, but not when bingo is played. Halls set their own age rules within the law. For how other states handle bingo, see our bingo rules by state page.

North Dakota Bingo FAQ

Is bingo legal in North Dakota?

Yes. Bingo is legal in North Dakota when a licensed nonprofit runs it at a site approved by the Attorney General’s Gaming Division, under Century Code chapter 53-06.1. Tribal casinos such as Prairie Knights run their own bingo outside that charity program.

How old do you have to be to play bingo in North Dakota?

North Dakota law says no one under 18 may play bingo unless they are with an adult or the game runs under a permit or within permit prize limits. Dakota Skies Bingo in Bismarck requires players to be 18, while Bingorama in Minot lets children over 10 play with an adult. Bar games such as BorderTown in West Fargo and Nickels Lounge in Bismarck are 21 and over.

Is there a bingo prize limit in North Dakota?

Yes, for licensed nonprofit groups in North Dakota. Where bingo is the main game or the group leases the site, total bingo prizes may not exceed bingo gross proceeds over two consecutive quarters. Groups playing under a local permit are capped at a $15,000 top prize and $50,000 in prizes a year.

Who regulates bingo in North Dakota?

The Gaming Division of the North Dakota Office of Attorney General licenses bingo groups and approves their sites. It publishes current lists of licensed organizations and gaming sites. Its phone number is 701-328-4848.

Why is bingo played in bars in North Dakota?

Most North Dakota charitable gaming sites are bars and lounges, where a nonprofit runs pull tabs, blackjack and often bingo. NDAD runs bar bingo in West Fargo, Grand Forks and Minot, and Development Homes, Inc. runs it at five Grand Forks bars.

Do North Dakota casinos have bingo?

Of the North Dakota tribal casinos we checked in October 2026, only Prairie Knights Casino & Resort near Fort Yates showed bingo on its own site. It is a one-day $15,000 bingo on Saturday, October 24, 2026, with early birds at 11:00am, for players 21 and over. The Spirit Lake Casino, 4 Bears Casino, Sky Dancer Casino and Dakota Magic Casino sites list no bingo.

Where can I play bingo in Fargo?

Big Top Bingo at 901 25th Street S in Fargo, North Dakota, plays every day at 1:00pm, 3:00pm, 6:00pm and 8:00pm, plus 10:00pm on Friday and Saturday. Lonesome Dove in neighboring Mandan lists bingo every night at 7:00pm, but both bar listings are undated, so call first.

Where can I play bingo in Grand Forks?

Grand Forks, North Dakota, has bar bingo, but we found no stand-alone bingo hall. Southgate Casino Bar & Grill plays every Sunday at 5:30pm, and O’Really’s Irish Pub runs free bingo on Wednesdays at 8:00pm. Development Homes, Inc. runs bingo at five more bars without posting which session plays where.

Why call before I go?

North Dakota bingo is run by charities in halls and bars, and session times, monthly specials and even which bar has bingo can change from month to month. Several halls post a new calendar each month, so a short call confirms the session before you drive.
