Bingo Halls in Virginia: 41 Listings

Quick answers for Virginia

  • Listings on this page: 41 across 6 areas, plus 74 more in the More listings section.
  • Most bingo: Northern Virginia (9 listings).
  • Busiest day: Sunday (16 games on our day pages).
  • Prize limit: $100 a game, with up to 10 games a session at $200, and $1,000 in jackpots per session; progressive games may reach $5,000.

How we check: we compare each game with the organizer’s own page or a published listing where one exists, and we say so when we could not confirm a detail. Last checked: October 2026. Official source: charitable gaming page (vdacs.virginia.gov). Seen a change? Tell us and we will fix it.

Bingo in Virginia is charity bingo. Volunteer fire departments, rescue squads, veterans posts, lodges, Knights of Columbus councils and churches run the games under permits from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS). Most games are in Northern Virginia, Hampton Roads, the Fredericksburg and Richmond areas and the Shenandoah Valley.

There are more around Lynchburg and in the southwest corner at Bristol. Last checked: October 2026. We confirmed 41 games: 24 against the organizer’s own page and 17 from the state’s September 2026 directory of registered bingo sessions. That directory gives door times but not first-game times.

Another 74 older leads follow. Permits skip dates around holidays and fire company games cancel for weather, so a quick call before a long drive is wise. Many halls do not post prices, so ask about those when you call.

Bingo in Northern Virginia

See the full Northern Virginia bingo guide for a page just on this area.

In Northern Virginia you can play bingo every day but Monday, at nine confirmed games. Eight are weekly, in Vienna, Dunn Loring, Alexandria, Centreville, Manassas and Sterling, and one in Haymarket is monthly. Volunteer fire departments carry most of the bingo in Fairfax and Prince William counties.

There are also Knights of Columbus halls in Alexandria and Manassas and a Ruritan club in Sterling. All nine post their own schedules and appear in the state’s September 2026 directory. That list shows the Dunn Loring and Franconia registrations ending on September 30, 2026.

Both departments still post schedules, and a renewal would only show in a later edition. Across the Potomac, see our Maryland bingo halls page.

Bingo in Richmond, Fredericksburg and Central Virginia

Central Virginia has five confirmed bingo games, and Pop’s Bingo World in Richmond plays six days a week. Two are around Fredericksburg, and there is one each in Richmond, Glen Allen and Mechanicsville, so at least one is open every day of the week.

Near Fredericksburg, a Legion post and an Elks lodge post their own schedules. The table under them holds two shared halls north of Richmond that we know only from the state’s monthly directory of bingo sessions. Each section below has a table like it.

The directory gives the address, the registered days and the door time. It does not give the first-game time, prices or a phone number. In October 2026 the copy online was still the September edition. A registration it shows ending on September 30 or October 31 may have been renewed since, and we flag those games.

Bingo in Bristol and Southwest Virginia

Bristol has three of the seven confirmed bingo games in Southwest Virginia, and between them they play every day of the week. The other four are two each in Gate City, near Kingsport, and Wytheville. The Bristol games are St. Anne Church, Interstate Bingo and the Amvets hall at Bristol Commons, all within a few miles of the Tennessee line.

That matters to players from Tennessee, where there are no weekly bingo halls. Our Tennessee bingo guide explains why. In Abingdon, the Moose lodge’s Tuesday game was registered only through September 30, 2026 on the September 2026 list, so it stays in the older listings.

The 74 rows below come from older bingo directories and earlier state permit lists. We have not confirmed them with the halls, so treat each one as a lead. Where a row says permit window, the times are the hours the state permit allowed, not the time of the first game.

We did run the names against the state’s September 2026 directory. Of these, 13 rows are marked as not in it, which can mean the game has stopped. Another 8 lodge and post rows are marked members and guests only, because the state lists those sessions as social quarters.

Virginia Bingo Rules

  • Who regulates it: the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), through its Office of Charitable and Regulatory Programs, under Article 1.1:1 of Title 18.2, Chapter 8 of the Code of Virginia
  • Who may run bingo: only nonprofits holding a VDACS permit, such as volunteer fire departments and rescue squads, veterans groups, fraternal lodges, churches and school booster clubs; a group that takes in $40,000 or less and plays on no more than seven days a year registers instead
  • Prize limits: $100 for a regular or special game, with up to 10 games a session allowed to pay $200; jackpots may not total more than $1,000 in a session
  • Progressive games: up to six a session, each starting at $500 or less, growing by no more than $200 a session and topping out at $5,000
  • Minimum age: no flat state minimum; someone under 18 may play bingo with a parent or legal guardian, and a hall may set a stricter house rule. Pull tabs, instant bingo and seal cards are 18 and over, and electronic games are 21 and over
  • How often: bingo may be held on any day, with any number of sessions in a day, but only on the dates and times written in the permit; sessions sharing a hall must be at least 30 minutes apart
  • Paying to play: cash, or checks and debit cards if the organization takes them; credit cards and playing on credit are not allowed
  • Electronic pull tabs: allowed only for social organizations such as lodges and veterans posts at their own primary location, with at most 18 devices, players 21 or older and no advertising to the general public

VDACS explains the permit system on its charitable gaming page, and its complaint line is 804-371-0498. The prize limits are in Code of Virginia 18.2-340.33. The rule on players under 18 is in regulation 11VAC20-20-60. When the state directory marks a session Social Quarters, it is for a lodge’s or post’s members and their guests, not the general public.

Virginia Bingo FAQ

Is bingo legal in Virginia?

Yes. Virginia allows charitable bingo run by qualified organizations such as volunteer fire departments, rescue squads, veterans posts, fraternal lodges and churches. The games run under a permit from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS). The law is Article 1.1:1 of Title 18.2, Chapter 8 of the Code of Virginia.

How old do you have to be to play bingo in Virginia?

Virginia sets no flat minimum age, and someone under 18 may play with a parent or legal guardian. Halls may be stricter: Shawnee in Winchester admits only adults 18 and over, Boyce and Dunn Loring require 16, and Pop’s Bingo World in Richmond allows 12 and up. Pull tabs and instant bingo are 18 and over everywhere, and electronic games are 21 and over.

What is the biggest bingo prize allowed in Virginia?

Under Code of Virginia 18.2-340.33, a regular or special bingo game may pay up to $100, and up to 10 games a session may pay $200. Jackpots are capped at $1,000 per session, but up to six progressive games per session may build to $5,000 each. A single pull tab or instant bingo card may pay up to $2,000, and a network bingo prize up to $25,000.

Where can I play bingo in Bristol if I live in Tennessee?

Bristol, Virginia has three registered games close to the state line. St. Anne Church plays Tuesday and Saturday with doors at 4:00pm, and Interstate Bingo on Euclid Avenue plays Saturday and Sunday with doors at 3:00pm. The Amvets hall at Bristol Commons plays Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with doors at 4:00pm. Those are door times, so ask each hall when the first game starts.

Are electronic pull tabs allowed at Virginia bingo halls?

Only in limited places. In Virginia, the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services may authorize electronic pull tabs for social organizations such as fraternal lodges and veterans posts, at their own primary location. The limits are no more than 18 devices, players 21 or older and no advertising to the general public. Paper pull tabs are sold at regular bingo sessions to players 18 and over.

How can I check that a Virginia bingo game is licensed?

Look it up in the Online Directory of Bingo Sessions, which the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services updates monthly. It lists each registered session by town with the organization, the address, the day and the times the doors open and close. It gives no first-game time or phone number, and sessions marked Social Quarters are for members and their guests only.

Where can I play bingo in Virginia Beach?

Virginia Beach, Virginia has two confirmed games, both in shared halls. Bingo Palace on South Lynnhaven Road plays Saturday and Sunday, and Witchduck Hall on North Witchduck Road plays Wednesday and Friday. Session times are in the Bingo in Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads and the Eastern Shore section above.

Where can I play bingo in Norfolk?

The one confirmed game in Norfolk, Virginia is Suburban Bingo on Tidewater Drive, where the state directory has doors opening on Saturday and Sunday. Nearby in Chesapeake, Brentwood Victory Hall is registered Wednesday to Sunday. Both are in the table in the Bingo in Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads and the Eastern Shore section above.

Where can I play bingo in Richmond?

In Richmond, Virginia, Pop’s Bingo World on Giant Drive plays every day except Tuesday. North of the city, the state directory lists shared halls in Glen Allen and Mechanicsville. Door times are in the Bingo in Richmond, Fredericksburg and Central Virginia section above.

Why call before I go?

Virginia permits are tied to set dates, and the state directory shows many games skipping dates around holidays. Fire company and auxiliary games also cancel for bad weather, and some lodge sessions are for members and guests only. The state list gives door times, not first-game times, so a call settles the start time, the price and whether the game is on that night.

Which day has the most bingo in Virginia?

Sunday has the most games in Virginia, with 16 listed on our day-by-day pages. By day: Monday 6, Tuesday 8, Wednesday 12, Thursday 12, Friday 13, Saturday 13 and Sunday 16. A hall that plays on several nights counts once on each night.
