Bingo Hall Guide for Maine

In Maine, bingo is charity bingo, and state law also calls it beano. Elks lodges, American Legion posts and other nonprofits run the games after registering with the Gambling Control Unit of the Maine Department of Public Safety. The games here stretch from Portland and Old Orchard Beach through Lewiston, Waterville, Rockland and Bangor, up to Presque Isle and Van Buren in Aroostook County. Last checked: October 2026. We confirmed 21 games. Each was checked against the organizer’s website, the Maine American Legion’s October 2026 events bulletin, a chamber of commerce or community calendar, or a 2026 news report. The 12 at the bottom are older, unconfirmed leads. Volunteers run most of these games, and few post prices. Games stop for storms or at the end of a season, so a quick call before a long drive is wise.

Yes. Maine’s law uses the word beano and says bingo, or any other name for the same game, means the same thing.

Does the Penobscot Nation still run high-stakes bingo in Maine?

Not that we could confirm. When we checked in October 2026, we found no current schedule for the Penobscot Nation’s high-stakes bingo on Indian Island in Old Town, Maine, so it is not listed here.

Why call before I go?

Maine bingo is run by volunteers at lodges and Legion posts. Games stop for snowstorms, holidays and the end of a season, as Windham and Pembroke do after October. Several games here come from bulletins or calendars with no phone number or price, so a call or a stop at the post first saves a wasted drive.
